ON THE PANEL

Entrepreneur Panel @ Nottingham Business School

March 2022

Here, I had the opportunity to share snippets of my career journey with Nottingham Business School students & take questions from the audience. I decided to focus on my inspirations for starting my business, the importance of aligning your own values with what you are passionate about doing within business & a little about some of the challenges I have faced along the way.

International Women’s Day #Breakthebias for NTU Enterprise Centre

March 2022

I was asked to host and facilitate this years panel discussion- back in the room. I asked the panel “Do you feel visible?”

A huge question that sparked conversations around everything from equality, diversity, stereotyping, bias, barriers, confidence, procrastination, limiting beliefs & imposter syndrome- We even DARED to discuss menstruation, motherhood & menopause - topics that are so often taboo in particular in the workplace.

The key theme that came from it was ‘CHALLENGE’ …

🔊Challenge the bias when you hear it.
🔊Call out those who use stereotypical language- even as a joke.
🔉Challenge misogyny.
🔊Challenge your own inner voice & belief system

Panellists included: Natalie Gasson-McKinley, Development Manager of FSB, Jyoti Chadda, Founder of My Wellness Company, Sandra Wiggins, Managing Director of DPI Ltd & Deshaun Hancock, Founder of Bloom & Flow.

The ‘youthification’ of the workplace

As one of four panelists, this event was fast paced and covered various topics of discussion, hosted and facilitated by events expert Mary Corcoran and Manchester based PR firm- Toast PR.

An audience of thirty fired questions at the panel to create a productive discussion throughout and I offered feedback, opinion and incite along the way.

The event was held at Accelerate Places, a business hub in Nottingham and I shared the panel with the CEO of the centre Mark Sanders, Co-founder of UNIDays Jay Ludditt and MC Mary Baird-Wilcock of The Simplifiers.
